God Hears Your Prayers

God Hears Your Prayers
He wants to spend time with you and hear from you.

We learned earlier that God talks to us in the Bible. In prayer, you are talking with God. He knows you better and loves you more than any friend. He wants to spend time with you and hear from you.

God is more than a friend. He is the Lord Almighty. He is able to do things for you and knows the right way to help. To know what God is like, just look to Jesus (John 1:18).

When Jesus’ disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray, He gave a model prayer, often known as the “Our Father” or “The Lord’s Prayer” (Matthew 6:9-13). It is not a magic formula to be repeated over and over to gain His favor. Rather, it gives some keys for relating to Him. Let’s look at some of them:

It starts with worship
Our Father in Heaven, holy is Your name.

We should approach God with deep respect, knowing at the same time that He is our loving Father. We are called to love God with all that we are. We worship Him and declare that His name is holy. We pray that more and more people would see this.

We align ourselves with His will
Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven

God has a great plan for the world and for His people. We should find out how we fit into that plan. His plan for today includes something for us to do. And we ask Him to exercise His mighty power to make things right, here on earth. The more our prayers agree with His purpose, the more He delights in answering them.

We ask for the things we need
Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

After we worship and accept His plan, we talk about our own needs. “Daily bread” means the basics: Food, clothing, and shelter; and we are aware every day that He is the one who provides.

When we say “Forgive us our debts,” we remember that He has graciously forgiven our sins — a “debt” too large for us to ever pay back. Jesus lived a perfect life and shed His blood on the cross. He paid that debt forever. Because He lives in us now, we are able to forgive others. We can be set free from bitterness and broken relationships.

We ask for protection
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Though we are God’s children, we still tend to sin. So we ask Him, through the Holy Spirit, to guide us away from tempting situations. Also, we have an enemy, Satan, whose goal is to "steal, kill, and destroy" (John 10:10). We ask for protection from God who can help us no matter what we are going through.

Look to Jesus in Prayer
The more we spend time with God in prayer and in His word, the more we know Him and love Him. The more our hearts beat with His. The more like Jesus we become.

NAIL HOUSE PHENOMENON

Nail house is a building whose owner refuses to accept compensation from a property developer for its demolition, either for the love of the home, or because they want to 'hold out' for increased compensation.
Below is the famous nail house in China where the road was built around the house, leaving it as an island in a river of new asphalt. The house was finally demolished after its elderly owners agreed to accept compensation.

God’s Power in Your Life: Power with Purpose
God uses His power for His glory and our good.

We know that God is always at work for the good of everyone who loves him. They are the ones God has chosen for his purpose.

Romans 8:28
God has forgiven you; God has taught you; God has empowered you to do His work. But what is the purpose of His work in your life?

1. It’s For The Glory of God:
Have you ever wondered why you exist? What is your purpose here on earth?

Jesus tells us what He wants from us: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind” and “Love others as much as you love yourself” (Matthew 22:37, 39). Everything we do must be to bring honor to the Lord. He empowers you to bring Him glory in your home, in your community, and in the world.

In all of human history, God has been trying to reach out to people; and He empowers His followers to show others His greatness, His goodness, and His love:

“Everyone on this earth, sing praises to the Lord.
Day after day announce, ‘The Lord has saved us!’
Tell every nation on earth, ‘The Lord is wonderful and does marvelous things!
The Lord is great and deserves our greatest praise!
He is the only God worthy of our worship’” (I Chronicles 16:23-25).

Our purpose — your purpose as a Christian — is to praise the Lord, “so at the Name of Jesus, everyone will bow down. And to the glory of God the Father, everyone will openly agree, ‘Jesus Christ is Lord!’” (Philippians 2:10-11).

2. It’s The Path of The Righteous Man:
Psalm 23 rejoices in the comfort and provision that the Lord gives His people. It talks about how He leads us to victory in spite of the overwhelming odds, ensuring us of His eternal love, peace, and life. All these things are good! But why does He do them?

The Psalm explains, promising that the Lord “leads me along the right paths” (Psalm 23:3). The Lord is true to His Word! He has promised good for His people. When people witness this goodness, they can recognize that God is great. “For His Name’s sake” shows that God wants to uphold this reputation, this fame, for being so good.

As you experience God’s goodness, He empowers you to bring Him glory. And God is glorified by the goodness in your life.

Pray this week:

Dear Lord, empower me to experience Your goodness and to bring You glory! Amen

Working in the UK

Working in the UK

I have been working part time in the UK for the past eight months, after a gap of some 15 years whilst living abroad. Finding work was a bit of a challenge, due to my age. There are a few companies that employ pensioners, however I was seeking an active outdoor job having formally been a sailing Instructor. I was interviewed for a water-sports vacancy, which would have been ideal but heard nothing and then I saw an advert for Go Ape Instructors in Sherwood Forest. I love teaching and sharing knowledge and being a former adventure racer saw the possibilities. After attending a half-day group interview, I was selected for training. I had some concerns as the supervisors were younger than me and fellow trainees might be fitter but as it turned out, my knowledge, adaptability and work ethics resulted in and employment offer..

Some fellow instructors did not know quite what to make of me and would step in and offer to help to assist me and I would stand aside, but as time went on I realised I was more than their equal in some areas and even in the physically activity of climbing zip lines I could hold my own.

I have always been the type of person who is reliable and on time and will look for jobs to do rather than stand around doing nothing. Looking after customers safety on the treetops course is paramount and on many occasions customers need encouragement to complete some challenges on the course. One thing I am good at is pushing people to their limits. Throughout the season, I helped many people overcome their fear of heights, with only one or two not being able to overcome their fears.

I ended up working a number of extra days as a result of people missing shifts, this was great for me. The company distribute a simple spreadsheet which show the start times or days that instructors are required to work, but often people forget to check with the result that those on shift have to work harder to cover the shortfall. This to me is a new phenomenon and I cannot remember this occurring in the past. When working work should come first, otherwise how else can you pay your way in life.

I will be working weekend only for the next month finally ending my contract on the first weekend in December and I hope that I will be invited back for a new contract next year.

Rather than sitting around during the winter, I am turning my attention back to my online business, which involves selling Diet Coffee. The product is excellent for people who love coffee and want to lose weight, just by replacing the coffee they current drink with another brand.  ! have sold over 100 boxes since July.

Social Network Marketing Techniques That Get Results

Social Network Marketing

Social Network Marketing Techniques That Get Results

Social media is an essential component of any successful online marketing strategy. By getting your business set up on all of the major social networks and actively engaging with your audience, you can create long-term relationships with your customers while at the same time building brand loyalty.

Having said that, however, you can't simply set up your accounts and expect instant success. Instead, you need to focus on posting valuable content to all of your channels so that your followers begin to grow organically. Here are some social network marketing tips that can help you get amazing results:

Social Network Followers

1. Always focus on your followers. Your ultimate objective with social media marketing should be to keep your fans and followers as happy as possible. In order to do that, you need to provide them with high-quality content that they actually want to see. This can range from helpful articles or videos to entertaining images or breaking news stories. Whatever type of content you post, make sure that it is interesting, engaging, and highly relevant to your business.

Track Your Marketing Results

2. Track your results. When it comes to marketing through social media, the only way to know what works is by tracking your results. Most social networks have built-in tracking tools that you can use to see which of your posts are the most popular. You should be able to see how many people have liked or favorited a particular post. If you post any links to your account, you should also be able to track how many people clicked on the link.

On the backend, you may want to consider including tracking codes with your links so that you can monitor how people behave after they follow one of your links to your website. This can give you more useful data on how many visitors are actually being converted into buyers.

Interact With Followers

3. Interact with your followers. One of the reasons that social media is so effective is because it allows you to personally interact with your followers. If someone posts a question to your account, always do your best to answer promptly. Likewise, if you get any customer complaints through social media, you need to deal with them immediately, doing your best to resolve the issue in a way that is fair.

This type of personal interaction can quickly build trust with your followers, turning them into loyal fans. In the end, this can help keep your business stable since these people are likely to come back to buy your products over and over again.

4. Add images to your posts. Text-based posts tend to blend into the background, often getting overlooked. By adding eye-catching images to your posts, however, you can capture the attention of more of your followers. Experiment with adding images to your posts to see whether or not it helps increase follower interaction.

5. Stick to a regular posting schedule. It is important not to post too often to your social media accounts. At the same time, however, you want to post often enough that people don't forget about you. Set up a regular posting schedule and do your best to stick with it. This will help your followers get a sense of when to expect your posts. That way, you can keep your company fresh in their minds without overwhelming them with too many posts.

Social Network Msrketing

These social network marketing techniques should help you build a loyal fan base on all of the major social networks. Building a strong social media presence can help you develop long-lasting relationships with your customers while at the same time increasing brand loyalty.
