What Happens When We Die?

Death is Certain
Rich or poor, in spite of all our efforts, everyone will die sooner or later. There are many opinions about what happens when we die. But what does God have to say about it?

Eternal Life – Two Kinds
God’s word, the Bible, tells us that each person’s soul lives forever. Today’s scripture from Hebrews tells us that after death comes judgment. This leads us to one of two destinies: Heaven or Hell.

We know that Christians, who have received God’s free gift of salvation and forgiveness, will spend eternity in Heaven. There, they will have loving fellowship with God and His people. Sadly, those who have rejected Jesus Christ will not go to Heaven. The Bible teaches that their certain destiny is Hell. In hell, suffering, hopelessness and regret last forever. There is an absence of God that brings deep grief.

Heaven is the best possible place to spend eternity and Hell is the worst. The difference between these two outcomes is very big.

The Decision is Yours
Church attendance won’t get you into Heaven. Nor will living a good life, or doing good deeds. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Later in Romans we find that “the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

We must first admit that we are sinful and separated from God. Then we must turn away from our sins, turn to Jesus Christ, and ask for God’s forgiveness. By believing that Jesus took the punishment that we deserved, we accept and receive God’s gracious gift of salvation by faith. “For as many as received Him, he gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believed in His name” (John 1:12).

Don’t Delay
No matter your age, there’s no guarantee that you will live until tomorrow. In Luke 12:16-21, Jesus told a story of a rich man who trusted in his possessions. “But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’” (Luke 16:20).

I urge you: Don’t wait another day to come to Jesus for salvation. Find out how to accept Jesus Christ today.

Pray this week:

To thank God for sending His Son, Jesus, to offer forgiveness of your sins.

The Kingdom Is Here Already

Notice that in our opening verse, the Lord Jesus
didn’t say, “Except a man be born again,
he cannot enter the Kingdom of God.” He said, “he
cannot see….” He’s saying, in other words, that the
Kingdom of God is here present. You can’t see it, until
you’re born again, and have the life of that Kingdom.
The Kingdom of God is the totality of God’s influence
that covers the world and heaven. It’s everywhere, but
its manifestation isn’t everywhere.
God sent Jesus to establish the Kingdom of
Heaven. The Kingdom of Heaven is that part of the
Kingdom of God headed by Jesus Christ, established
in the earth through the Gospel. You become a part
of that Kingdom when you receive Jesus as your Lord,
to be born again. When you’re born again, you start
“seeing” differently. You see what others don’t see. You
hear what others don’t hear. You know what others
don’t know, and yet you may be physically in the same
earthly location as they.
Remember, when God spoke to Jesus on the
Cross, the people said it thundered. Some said, “An
angel spoke to Him.” They didn’t understand, and yet
The Kingdom Is Here Already
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily,
I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he
cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3).
we were given the meaning of the words.
So, really, “Except a man be born again, he cannot
see the kingdom of God”; he can’t hear or know it. But
when you’re born again, you have insight into divine
mysteries and secrets. When you read the Bible, you
can understand it, because the Spirit of God in you
unveils the Word to you. He makes the mysteries of
the Kingdom clear to you, for it is written, “…it is given
unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of
heaven…” (Matthew 13:11).
Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for
bringing me into the Kingdom
of your dear Son, according to
your own mercy, by the washing
of regeneration and renewing of
the Holy Spirit. I’m grateful for
your Kingdom, which is in my
heart, and for the Holy Spirit in
me who unveils the mysteries
of the Kingdom to me, with the
ability to appropriate spiritual
realities, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

If You Eat Garlic And Honey On An Empty Stomach For 7 Days, Here’s What Happens To Your Body

When it comes to cooking, garlic is one of my favourite ingredients. And it’s such a versatile ingredient that it can be used in almost any savoury dish! Roasted with some proteins, stir-fried in some vegetables, blended into a creamy pasta sauce…. the list goes on and on. Personally, I absolutely love the flavour and aroma of garlic so when a recipe calls for two cloves of garlic, I’ll somehow justify to myself that I really should be putting in five or six. And the best part is that I don’t feel too guilty about it because garlic is healthy!

Garlic can be used to help lower cholesterol levels and blood pressure, and prevent cancer, heart attacks, coronary heart disease, and atherosclerosis. This superfood can also be used to help treat the common cold, the flu, bug bites, fungal infections, and traveller’s diarrhoea. Garlic is great for strengthening your immune system while eliminating toxins, leading many people to consume it after chemotherapy.
But while I love cooked garlic, garlic in its raw form is apparently how you’re going to get the best results. This is because heating garlic has been shown to reduce its anticancer properties and inactivate a key enzyme called alliinase. What you’ll want to do to maximise the health benefits of garlic is to crush it up raw, releasing the enzymes that will break down into good organosulfur compounds, and then eat it on an empty stomach. But raw garlic is incredibly pungent, so try this…

Take 2-3 garlic cloves, chop up and crush them, and mix it with a tablespoon of honey (also healthy with anti-bacterial properties!). If you can consume it this way on a regular basis, it can go a long way in boosting your immune system!
