Idolatry In Relationships

Scripture: “Even after Paul and Barnabas had said all this, they could hardly keep the people from offering a sacrifice to them. Some Jewish leaders from Antioch and Iconium came and turned the crowds against Paul. They hit him with stones and dragged him out of the city, thinking he was dead.”  (Acts 14:18-19)

Seeing a miracle, the people of one town assumed Paul was a pagan god. They started to worship him. But they were just as quickly persuaded to try to kill him. How could someone jump so quickly from love to hatred?

When you make a person an idol, you cannot really love them, for you’re seeking something from them that they are unable to give you.

The same way an idol is chiseled from stone, you “chip away” at someone who fails to please you. This causes you both great harm. The person believes you love them. But when you try to make them fit your idolatrous heart, your words and acts cut them deeply.

Is there someone in your life who is feeling pain because of your idolatrous heart?

Be Christ-inside Minded

…for ye are the temple of the living God; as God
hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them;
and I will be their God, and they shall be my people
(2 Corinthians 6:16
).

God lives in you. You have to become
conscious of this. You’re the temple of the
living God; He’s made His home in you now. He no
longer dwells in earthly tabernacles. The day Jesus
was crucified was the day God left earthly temples.
While Jesus was on the cross, the Bible says there was
darkness in the earth for three hours. The rocks began
to split; the earth began to quake. The presence of God
had been in the Holy of Holies, separated from the
Holy Place with a thick curtain. But when Jesus said
on the cross, “It is finished,” that thick curtain was cut
from the top to the bottom, and the Holy of Holies
was opened, and the presence of God departed from
that temple.
This symbolizes that the most Holy Place is open
to everybody. Before then, only the High Priest could
go into that most Holy Place where the presence of
God was, and that He did once every year. But through
Jesus Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit, the
Church was born. And then, the human body became
the living tabernacle of Almighty God. Today, everyone
who’s born again has become God’s dwelling place.

Do you see why you ought never to be discouraged
or defeated in life? It’s because the greater One lives
in you. He lives in you in all His glory, majesty, power,
and dominion. No wonder the Word says though your
body may be dead because of sin, now that Christ
lives in you, He gives it life, because of righteousness
(Romans 8:10). In other words, Christ in you is your
healing and health. Christ in you is your prosperity and
assurance of a life full of glory and excellence. Have
this consciousness.
Colossians 1:26-27 says, “…To whom God would
make known what is the riches of the glory of this
mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you,
the hope of glory.” What God wanted before the
foundation of the world was for Christ to take up
His abode in the quarters of our hearts; and it has
happened. He’s not far away anymore; you don’t have
to seek or search for Him anywhere else; He lives in
you. Become “Christ-inside” minded.
Confession I’m the seed of Abraham and therefore an heir according to the promise. I belong to the wealthiest and most sublime family there is, and I walk in blessings untold. I’m empowered to prosper, and positioned to be fruitful and productive, glorifying God with my life, in the Name of Jesus. Amen

The Final Scene As Written In The Book Of Revelation! (Way Exciting Enough To Witness)

A New Heaven and a New Earth (Revelation 21:1-8)

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, a for the first heaven and earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away.”

And the One seated on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” Then He said, “Write this down, for these words are faithful and true.” And He told me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give freely from the spring of the water of life. The one who is victorious will inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he will be My son.

But to the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and sexually immoral and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death.”

This clip is from the final scene of the Superbook episode, “Revelation”. Chris, Joy and Gizmo witness the final battle and discover God’s plan for the future.

Looking at this makes me feel like the days to come are ain’t really terrifying. Actually, it’s so good enough to kindle because Jesus is coming with everything new!

4 Skills Entrepreneurs Need to Succeed — No Talent Required

Brian de HaaffFollowingUnfollowBrian de Haaff
CEO, Aha! — #1 product roadmap software
Some memes make the rounds online regularly. One that often pops up is the list of “10 things that require zero talent.” From big-picture traits like passion to daily habits like being on time, the list is a good reminder that success as an entrepreneur requires a strong foundation.

Building a business is hard work. It requires constant vigilance — and always being on the lookout for hidden opportunities.
That is why, rather than sleeping through a flight, you might spend two hours talking shop with your seatmate, who is an ideal consumer for your product — because you could pick up some valuable information. In fact, something similar just happened to me during a conversation where I learned that a parent on my son’s soccer team was a VP of product.

Most entrepreneurs that I know already do most of those 10 things that require zero talent. They have no problem being prepared or putting in extra effort.
But successful entrepreneurs take it farther with four more skills that set them apart. And luckily, those skills do not require special knowledge, an expensive degree, or any talent to cultivate.

So, what are these special skills — and how can you use them to build your own business?

Listening
The success of your business depends on how you solve your customer’s problems. How closely do you listen? How quickly do you interrupt with what you want to say? Instead of butting in, try attentive listening to understand the frustrations and challenges your customer faces. You will be better able to empathize and provide real solutions.

Prioritization
Do you feel like you are putting out fires every day — and not getting anywhere? The trouble may be that you consider all tasks to be created equal. Take time to prioritize what aligns to your strategic goals. Then set a plan to tackle (with tasks ordered by priority) and stick to it. You will accomplish more and see real progress.

Responsiveness
Want to instantly make your customers happier? It costs you nothing to be more responsive. That means immediately following up on voicemails and responding to emails. Your customers will appreciate your fast response — and you find will more opportunities to connect.

Openness
Here is another skill — keeping an open mind. Start by expanding what you typically read to include materials that offer an alternate point of view, even the opposite of yours. Strike up a conversation with a stranger. When you challenge yourself to consider new ideas, you can more easily engage and build solid relationships with customers and your team.

These skills do not require any talent or cost to develop. But they do require an investment of time and effort.
You will not suddenly become a better listener or more open-minded overnight. But you can make these skills a priority. Your dedication will pay off in dividends — once you have a stronger, more nimble business to show for it.

You Don’t Need To Ask Him

More often than not, people think the purpose
for prayer is asking God for things. Prayer
isn’t about asking God for things. It’s just that the word,
“Prayer” is a generic word, but many only look at one
of its synonyms, which is to ask or make requests;
but there’s more to prayer than making requests and
entreaties. The higher purposes of prayer have nothing
to do with asking for things.
Due to the misconception of the purposes of
prayer, when some Christians read our opening
scripture above, the next thing that comes to their
minds is making requests of God. But that scripture
needs to be well understood. Jesus didn’t say, “What
things soever ye ask for, when ye pray…”; He said,
“What things soever ye desire, when ye pray….” He
didn’t say you should ask!
This means, when you’re praying, whether in
praise or in worship, and you have a desire, just believe
that that desire has been granted you. You don’t need
to ask Him! The Bible says, “…for your Father knoweth
what things ye have need of, before ye ask him”
(Matthew 6:8). He knows what you desire; He knows
You Don’t Need To Ask Him
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye
desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them,
and ye shall have them (Mark 11:24).
Acts 21:17-36
Job 29-31
Galatians 3:13-22
Isaiah 32
Prayer
Precious and loving Father, how awesome is your Name in all the earth! Your love reaches to
the heavens; your faithfulness is everlasting. You feed all humanity from the abundance of your own
house, letting them drink from your river of delights. As I enjoy a rich time of fellowship with you
in prayer today, I receive all my heart’s desires, in Jesus’ Name.
Amen.
