Your internet speeds will be insanely fast when 5G arrives

When the 5G wireless standard hits the mainstream, our home internet speeds have the potential to be so fast that we'll be downloading 4K movies, games, software, and any other large form of content at a fraction of the time we're used to.

5G is the upcoming evolution of wireless 4G LTE, which is mostly used today for wireless mobile networks. It'll offer incredibly fast wireless communication that can be used for a number of applications outside of mobile networks, one of which is home internet.

At Mobile World Congress this year, Samsung showcased its 5G Home Routers, which achieved speeds of up to 4 gigabits-per-second (Gbps), according to PCMag. That's 500 megabytes-per-second, which could let you download a 50GB game in under two minutes, or a 100GB 4K movie in under four minutes.

To give you an idea of how fast that is, the average internet speed in the US as of 2016 is 55 megabits-per-second, which translates to a woeful 6.5 megabytes-per-second.

As PCMag's Sascha Segan points out, however, Samsung's router was right next to the transmitting 5G cell at the time of the demonstration. That means those speeds are probably only possible in a perfect scenario, where the 5G router is extremely close to the 5G radio cell without any interference, obstacles, or network congestion.

Still, even with 50% of that performance, we could be experiencing 2Gbps speeds at home. And even 1Gbps — 25% of the perfect scenario — would be great compared the US internet speed average.

Gigabit internet speeds aren't new, but they're extremely rare to come by. There are just a handful of ISPs that offer Gigabit Internet in just a few parts of the US, largely because it's incredibly expensive to lay down infrastructure. It involves digging up roads to install miles of fiber optic cables and connecting them to your specific address.

The best part about wireless 5G millimeter waves is that ISPs don't have to build costly infrastructure to deliver those insanely fast speeds. Instead, your internet service will be delivered wirelessly through the air, much like your mobile network for your phone.

How does it work?
Samsung's 5G Home Router will use an antenna installed outside of one of your home's windows, which is connected to a WiFi router inside your home. That antenna will pick up one of 5G's "millimeter wave" wireless signals that are transmitted from millimeter wave cell towers.

We've actually seen this technology before from a startup called Starry, which is currently in the testing phase in Boston.

Hurry up and wait.
You can't buy it yet, but the technology is here, and now it's a matter of when this 5G millimeter wave technology will become mainstream.

We're essentially waiting for ISPs to begin rolling out 5G. At the moment, Verizon is testing 5G in a few parts of the US, and the the overall consensus for mainstream 5G is around 2020.

There's no indication of how much these routers and other equipment will cost, nor how much the internet plans will cost, either. You can get a 500Mbps plan from Verizon Fios at the moment, but that costs $275 per month.

Here's to hoping Gigabit 5G Internet will be cheaper.

How To Plan Mobile App Development for your Business

To create an effective app, it is essential to have a nicely laid- organized process and concept. Preplanning the app development program and development procedure will help in averting deviations from set goals, which can cause dramatic developments to the ultimate product. But, before you carry on, here are a few important things you should know.

Pre Strategy Your Mobile App Development- How can it work? How can it be useful to end users and participate? Thus, the process calls for generally defining the program. Now, why is this significant? When your mobile app developers have a clear understanding of what is expected from them, what are the characteristics the app should have, and what are your targets of mobile program development, it assists in constructing the mobile app that is more important and essential.

Taking this point further, when fair attempt and time is spent in pre-planning your app development process, it may go a long way in eliminating delays, minimizing your overhead costs, and providing the project punctually. Planning not only involves defining the app and its functionalities, but also includes establishing proper targets, timelines, and budget. Lucidity and unnecessary delays are eliminated, thus, reducing overhead costs. Precise price projection is ready with the development and marketing team so that deviations can be identified by them and minimize the exact same.

Pre-planning also helps gain insights into your audience, competitors, and latest market trends. This may be most profitable in bringing innovative and interesting turning points in the essential features of your app. Thus, with valuable market knowledge from an early phase, you are able to successfully build an app that's unique and offers somewhat distinct characteristics than other similar mobile apps in the market. Adding to this, effective communication of the theory with your development partner can help them clearly identify duties and their functions in order that they are able to provide better. Planning also helps to streamline your development procedure, and what it organized to generate outcomes that are better.

Looking to build a mobile app? Not sure how to go in regards to the pre-planning period? Here is a thorough guide for you:

Describe Your Mobile App in a Nutshell – The initial step of pre-planning comprises preparing an incredibly short description of what your app must be all about. Make it as short as possible, but feature the core notion of the app and key features you might be anticipating.

Ascertain the Needs of Your Intended Audience – This really is one of the most crucial points, but it may illuminate many factors that may be valuable in constructing a proper cellular app when done right. For this, it is imperative to recognize your market and know their ‘buying’ behavior and inclinations. It's possible for you to create forums and conversations or connect together socially to take an online survey. This can help incorporate the same in your cell program, and likewise, ascertain the things they exactly anticipate from your program.

Browse through Similar Mobile Apps – It is more easy to locate similar apps in the app store unless your app notion isn’t something in the ‘niche’ category or totally unique. Go through a few of these programs, and find their essential characteristics, how they work, technical aspects, customer ratings, and reviews, etc. This could only help you ideate.

Brainstorm a ‘Powerful’ App Idea – On the contrary to the idea of “Too many cooks spoil the broth, ” when you brainstorm with a group of like-minded people, you happen to be capable of developing ideas that are more innovative and distinctive. But for this, it is important to spot people who can add value to your app thought, and not always like-minded individuals. Brainstorming with individuals from various fields is the best way to create a better outcome and groundbreaking ideas. Make sure you are able to brainstorm from technical and customer, promotion viewpoint.

Produce a Master Record of Outcomes – This may differ from everything you conceptualized in the beginning. Based on your own research and findings from the above-mentioned measures, create a comprehensive list and compare this with the initial concept. In this step, you also had better improvise the brief description on the basis of the most recent changes.

Translate Your Ideas right into a Simple Flowchart – Flowchart or a diagram is the best way to communicate your app idea, workflow, and functionalities. But ensure that you keep it clear, simple and concise for everyone to understand easily. The flowchart should include testing demands, deadlines, budget, etc., characteristics and functionalities, development procedure, roles and duties, QA and the program theory Keep it as comprehensive as you can, if not in a flowchart then in display or a PowerPoint presentation -by-screen navigation of the app.

Conclusion

Preplanning is important for mobile app development, although not the single key to building an effective app. We regularly are inclined to overlook the need frequently or to add new attributes upgrade an app throughout its lifecycle. Give attention to creating user-centric and bug-free continue providing user experience that is improved through additional iterations, and program from its first release. In once, hire an experienced and professional development team who can help assemble the app of your fantasy, and within the set time and budget.

Did God Plan for Evil to Exist in the World?

We can choose to walk in God’s ways or we can choose to turn from Him.

Written by Hope on 31/08/2014
Series: Weekly Devotional
“God wants everyone to be saved and to fully understand the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:4

In the beginning, God created the heavens, the earth and all of the things in it. When God created people, he gave us free will. That means we can choose to walk in God’s ways or we can choose to turn from Him. Choices led to evil entering the world but, originally, God made a perfect and peaceful world.

Not Choosing God
The Bible records that God gave Adam, the first man, specific instructions to avoid “the tree of the knowledge of good and evil” (Genesis 2:17). However, Adam chose to disobey God’s instructions. As a result, “sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death” (Romans 5:12). God didn’t intend for Adam to eat the fruit. That’s why God warned him. We can see that evil exists in the world because people choose to turn away from God, not because God wants evil in the world.

The Example of the Potter
Did God create us to be bad? No; God created people to be “in His own image” (Genesis 1:27). The book of Isaiah compares God to a potter and us to clay. A potter crafts clay into a good vessel that he desires. The potter doesn’t create the vessel to become corrupted by mold, and God didn’t create us to become corrupted by sin. Just as the potter doesn’t want his vessel to be smashed, God doesn’t want His people to perish.

Built for God’s Purpose
People have had the option of disobeying God ever since the original sin; but that is not what He wants us to choose. Sin separates us from God, but God wants to be with us. That’s why He sent Jesus to save us from our sins. People sin because “they have no fear of God” (Psalm 36:1), but God said, “I have made [all who claim Me as their God] for My glory” (Isaiah 43:7). Remember to choose God and obey His ways, so that we can bring Him glory. Even though God didn’t want us to choose evil, He still provided us with a way out through Jesus. Let’s be thankful and continue to choose goodness over evil.

Pray this week:

That God will strengthen you, so you can obey Him.

Trusting God’s Wisdom

He is Infinitely Wise

Written by Dan Lee on 10/01/2017
Series: Weekly Devotional
Tags: Wisdom, Hope, Sovereignty
Who can measure the wealth and wisdom and knowledge of God? Who can understand his decisions or explain what he does? “Has anyone known the thoughts of the Lord or given him advice?

Romans 11:33-34 CEV
We as human beings are constantly faced with tough decisions, and situations. It’s the nature of living in a fallen world. However, through all of the turmoil, God is still sovereign and is truly wise.

If we doubt that God has infinite wisdom, we will be tempted to despair when things go wrong. On the other hand, understanding God’s wisdom helps us to trust Him and be secure in any situation.

Here are some areas we see God’s wisdom demonstrated, and why you should trust his Wisdom:

Creation – Past and Present
By wisdom the Lord founded the earth; by understanding he created the heavens. (Proverbs 3:19)

From the distant galaxies to the tiniest insect, everything we see is a product of God’s perfect design, not random chance. Every area of human knowledge, from mathematics to physics to biology, is just a tiny sliver of God’s great wisdom. All of our study in these and other fields, is an attempt to discover more of the wonders of His creation. “The heavens keep telling the wonders of God, and the skies declare what He has done.” (Psalm 19:1)

Some people believe that God created the world, then left us to fend for ourselves. But Colossians 1:17 says this about Jesus: “God’s Son was before all else, and by him everything is held together.” (Colossians 1:17)

Human History
If the presence of evil rulers bothers you, think of Pharaoh, who was cruel and oppressive to God’s people. Yet, “In the Scriptures the Lord says to Pharaoh of Egypt, 'I let you become Pharaoh, so that I could show you my power and be praised by all people on earth.'” (Romans 9:17). Yes, even Pharaoh, the wicked oppressor of Israel, was appointed by God to bring glory to Himself. And so it continues with today’s kings and kingdoms. God is still in control.

Our Relationship to God
One of the most “foolish” things to many people is the idea that God came to earth in human form, and then willingly allowed himself to be killed for the salvation of mankind. Yet 1 Corinthians 1:25 says that God’s “foolishness” is greater than human wisdom.

In His infinite wisdom, God sent Jesus to die for your sins. All God's children should take great comfort from this. Those who have not yet decided to follow Him should realize that His plan of salvation, strange or even foolish as it may seem, is true and is intended for you. Humbly accept that God is infinitely great and wise, and seek to follow Him.

Pray this week:

Lord, forgive me for thinking I know better than You. Even though I can barely see or understand Your greatness, by faith I submit to Your great wisdom and Your plan for my life. Teach me through Your word to understand more and more, and to walk in greater confidence every day.

Discover His Plan For You

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith
the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give
you an expected end (Jeremiah 29:11).
God has a plan for your life; a destiny that He
created you to fulfil. Some people aren’t
aware of this and as a result, they live empty lives. Some
others don’t believe that God could have a plan for
them; but why wouldn’t He? He created you! Discover
His plan for you and walk in the light of it.
God’s Spirit is in you, to build, strengthen, and
guide you in the path of your divine destiny. Yield
yourself to Him and let Him carry out His ministry in
your life. You can’t do it on your own; you need Him
to help you. Jesus said in John 16:13, “Howbeit when
he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you
into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but
whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he
will shew you things to come.”
The Holy Spirit knows your future and everything
about your life, and it’s His delight to help you discover
your purpose in God, so you can fulfil your destiny in
Him. He created you to bring Him glory. Therefore,
live for Him. Study the Word and always fellowship
with the Holy Spirit in prayer. Be effective in the local
church, and as you do these things, you’ll discover your  specific purpose in Him, and how to live and enjoy the good life He’s pre-arranged for you.
The Bible says, “For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ
Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that
we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]”
(Ephesians 2:10 AMP).

Pray For Your Country

As a Christian, it’s important to pray always for your
country and the leaders; be it your country of
residence or earthly nationality. Some people don’t know this:
many a time, there’s a strong spiritual conflict for the soul of
nations. In the days of Daniel, an angel had to fight the Prince
of Persia (Daniel 10:10-13). Such spiritual conflicts still happen
today, over countries of the world. There’re forces fighting for
the destruction and impoverishment of nations. But there’re
also angels, sent by God for the protection and prosperity of
those nations.
There’re very difficult days ahead, for many nations
of the world. But the Lord wants His people prepared and
ready. As we pray, angels sent by God are able to fulfil their
assignments in the nations of the world. So, in your privacy,
take time to pray for your country. Pray for the President or
the Prime Minister and leaders of your country.
As we pray, we mount pressure in the realm of the
spirit against the forces of darkness, and prevail against them.
Consequently, God’s purpose for those nations is fulfilled. It’s
been said that evil prevails when good men do nothing. So,
keep praying for your country, that the Word of the Lord
may have free course, and be glorified (2 Thessalonians 3:1).
Our prayers for the nations enable the Gospel to spread
unhindered. And when the Word of God saturates your
Pray For Your Country
nation, evil can’t prevail.
Our opening verse says we should pray “For kings,
and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet
and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” When the
Bible talks about “peace” here, it means a state of rest, where
everything is flourishing and in the right direction. This is the
life God expects us to live; and our prayer brings it into reality.
Glory to God!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I pray for my country
today, that wisdom and
understanding is imparted to the
leaders, to help them make the
right decisions for the benefit of
the people, and the spread of the
Gospel, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Think Beyond Yourself

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly
above all that we ask or think, according to the power
that worketh in us (Ephesians 3:20).
Our opening verse shows that there’s power
working in us; power from within. It’s the power of
the Holy Spirit. You can make that power work for you every
time. The onus is on you to put it to work, for it’s in your spirit.
2 Timothy 1:6 says, “…Stir up the gift of God, which is in
thee….”
We see a demonstration or release of this kind of
power from the Master Himself in Matthew chapter fourteen.
A great multitude had thronged Him, and He was moved with
compassion towards them, and He ministered to them and
healed many who were sick and afflicted. However, when it
was evening, His disciples suggested He dismiss the crowd:
“…It is already very late, and this is a lonely place. Send the
people away and let them go to the villages to buy food for
themselves” (Matthew 14:15 GNB), they urged Him.
Now, something remarkable happened. Instead of
sending the people away, Jesus commanded them to sit on
the grass, and took five loaves of bread and two fishes,
blessed them, broke them and gave them to His disciples to
feed the multitude. He put the power in Him in use, to bless
others.
Always, you must think beyond yourself. If you’re only
concerned about yourself, and all you want is to please
yourself, the power in you may never work. God’s power is
given to you for the Kingdom of God, for you to be a blessing
to your world. You’re the vent of God’s glory and power, His
outstretched hands of blessing to your world; never forget it.
Think Beyond Yourself
You’ll discover greater treasures the Lord has
deposited in you as you reach out to help others. Understand
your calling as a conduit of divine blessings. That’s what
brings real joy and fulfilment—thinking beyond yourself to
impact the lives of others positively.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for
making me a conduit of divine
blessings. You’ve blessed me and
made me a vent for your grace,
mercies, wisdom, glory and
power, to the praise of your
majesty. Your light shines through
me today, ever so brightly, and
your power is manifest to bring
succour, delight, and joy to many
in my world today, in Jesus’
Name. Amen.
